A cookie is a text file that the website you are visiting asks to save on your computer (by “computer” we also mean tablets and smartphones, unless otherwise stated). This file makes it possible to identify you as a visitor to a site. The website can use the information contained in the cookie to track your surfing on sites that use same type of cookie. In this way, things like the offers that the site displays will be customized for you.
There are two types of cookies (no, we are not not counting the chocolate chip kind here). One type is more durable and saves a text file on your computer for a longer time. This type of cookie has a definite expiration date (yes, a bit like a chocolate chip cookie) and is used, for example, for functions that tell you what is new since you last visited the site. When a cookie reaches its expiration date, it will be deleted the next time you visit the website that issued the cookie.
The other type of cookie (still not the chocolate chip kind) is more short-lived (these are called session cookies). They are temporarily stored on your computer while you are visiting a site. Websites use these types of cookies to keep track of what language you have chosen for the site and other things. A session cookie disappears when you close your browser.
To be able to complete a purchase, your browser must also support and have SSL support enabled. This is a protocol for encrypting information transmitted between our site and your computer.
If your browser or firewall on your computer is set to not accept cookies, you can instead contact our phone shop or place an order by phone, fax, letter or e-mail. (Unfortunately we do not accept orders placed by smoke signal.)
